Libya civil war Berlin peace talks. Trying to find a political appeasement for the civil war in Libya is the aim of the summit which opens today in Berlin in the presence of the UN's Libya envoy Ghassan Salame, Fayez al-Serraj, the head of the Government of National Accord (GNA) supported by the UN, the general Haftar, head of the Libyan National Army (LNA) which controls most of the east part of Libya, the Russian president Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, French President Emmanuel Macron, Chancellor Angela Merkel and others.
Forces supporting General Haftar called for a blockade of oil terminals to protest the Turkish intervention in support of GNA, the country's national government recognized by the UN.
